All-star Season Information
Players
All-stars teams will be selected from players at 3 levels of
play; AAA, Minors (10U) and Majors (12U).
All kids that played during the regular season are welcome
to try out for the All-star teams. We
ask that parents be very realistic regarding
their child’s ability when considering whether or not to tryout.
Kids will be selected based on the following criteria:
Assessment of their regular season play as conveyed by the
regular season coaching staff.
Their performance during the regular season as noted by the
All-star coach.
Their level of proficiency at a particular position needed
to best man an All-star team.
Their level of performance at the All-star tryout.
The player’s ability to commit to the All-star practice and
game schedule.
Teams will be made up of 11-12 kids based on coaching needs.
Tryouts
Typically tryouts are the first part of June and consist of
one 2-3 hour session.
Tryout will be run by the All-star head coach with the help
of non-parent assessors from different divisions.
Teams will be selected within 48 hours of the tryout.
Practice and
Tournament Schedule
Practice start dates and frequency will be based on coaching
preference
There may be some scrimmage play based on team availability.
Typically each team will compete in 3 tournaments beginning
the end of June and running to the end of July.
Location of tournaments and exact dates will be provided for
players as soon as practical.
10U and 12U Cal Ripken tournaments can be held at locations
all over Vermont, there could be some lengthy travel and hotel accommodations
that need to be considered.
Coaching
Head coaching positions are open to all coaches who have
coached a team at their perspective level during the current regular season and
must be approved by the board.
Assistant coaching positions will be filled by the head
coaches after player selection has been made. Teams may have 2-3 assistants
based on coaching preference.
The coaching staff will make all game time decisions,
playing time and player positions will be based on the staff’s assessment to
win games. There is no guaranteed
playing time.
Cost
There will be a $45.00 fee collected from each player after
selection has been made.
