2011 12U Tournament Information

Tournament Date: Saturday, July 9th and Sunday, July 10th

Welcome:
Congratulations on advancing to the Vermont State Tournament. On behalf of the Bennington County Baseball League, we would like to welcome you to the 2011 U12 Vermont Cal Ripken State Tournament. We are looking forward to hosting the tournament and will make every effort to ensure a rewarding experience for you and your team along with your families and supporters. We have put together the following information for your convenience. Please pass along this information to your players, parents and spectators.

Check in:
Managers meeting and umpires meeting will be held at the ‘Old Field Concession Stand’ on Friday July 8th @ 5:30 pm. Each team must have one representative, either manager or coach, present at the meeting. Teams must provide the following documentation at this meeting:

1. League Eligibility Tournament Form signed by State Commissioner
2. Tournament team roster certified and signed by league president
3. Birth certificate or Cal Ripken ID card for all players
4. Coaching certifications for all managers and coaches.
5. Copy of league accident and liability insurance policy
6. Consent for Treatment form for all players

* Please note that official tournament documents will be kept by the tournament chairman and returned to you after your team is eliminated and/or once the champion moves on.   

* Please note that official Cal Ripken patches must be visible on the upper left sleeve of uniforms or on the hats of all players and coaches.

Field location:
To get to the Manchester Recreation Park from the junction of Routes 7A and 30 located in the center of town, travel 0.7 miles north on Route 30 and turn right into the park.

Games:
Tournament play will be held on the Old Field located just inside the entrance to the Manchester Recreation Park on the right.

Practices:
Practices will be held on the New Field located in the back of the park, adjacent to the basketball courts. A practice schedule will be handed out at the manager/umpire meeting.

Tournament Rules and Procedures:
  • We observe and enforce the customary rules for coach, player and spectator conduct. Any misconduct could result in suspension from the tournament and/or team disqualification.
  • Player and coach introductions will be made at your first game only and at the beginning of the championship game.
  • Teams will line up on the base lines and observe the playing of the National Anthem before every game.
  • Scores will be posted at the concession stand after each game.


Concessions:
There is a concession stand that offers hamburgers, hot dogs, water, gatorade, drinks, popcorn, ice pops, ice cream and a variety of other snacks. We thank you in advance and appreciate any patronage you may give us.

We will present trophies to the T-Ball and AAA players and hand out team photos to those who have not already received them.
